Ellen (Elle) Pyle is a senior staff attorney in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She focuses her practice on complex civil litigation and ediscovery.
Prior to joining McDermott, Elle worked as a supervising contract attorney on a variety of matters related to antitrust, securities law and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) defense. From 2002 to 2004, she was a member of a law partnership that focused on civil and criminal matters, including: white-collar crime, product liability, medical malpractice and breach of contract cases. Elle was also the Director of Risk Management at a leading academic medical center, where she wrote training materials on tort and contract law, and developed corrective action plans to address risk management issues.
Elle has served on the DC Bar Lawyers Assistance Committee since 2008. In November of 2011, she was appointed Chairperson of that Committee. She also works with the American Bar Association Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs. Elle is also an active member of the DC Bar’s Ediscovery Subcommittee, where her duties include education on electronic discovery.
Elle partners with Children’s Law Center on pro bono cases involving Third Party Custody and Special Immigration Juvenile Status (SIJS).
Elle received her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
