John G. Bisbikis is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm's Chicago office. He focuses his practice on the areas of IP litigation, counseling and transactions.
John has significant litigation experience and has helped clients obtain favorable results in federal courts throughout the country. He has been involved in cases in a variety of industries and technologies, including ethernet switches, expert systems, transaction card processing, microprocessor controlled gaming devices, ink jet cartridges, interactive television systems, medical devices and pneumatic engines.
In addition, John has an active intellectual property counseling practice. John has conducted intellectual property due diligence reviews and portfolio analysis for major U.S. and international companies. He also has negotiated license agreements and prosecuted patent applications in a wide range of technologies.
John received his J.D. in 1992 from the University of Illinois College of Law. He also received his bachelor’s degree in general engineering from the University of Illinois in 1988.
John is a member of the Illinois bar, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, Central District of Illinois, Eastern District of Wisconsin and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
