Julian Lucien André is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Los Angeles office. He focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, white-collar criminal defense and appellate matters.
Julian handles a wide variety of matters involving all aspects of complex litigation, including the areas of securities litigation, health care and white-collar criminal defense. His trial experience includes work on a high-profile matter involving the largest financial restatements ever issued, helping secure the dismissal of both criminal charges and a related SEC action pending against his client.
Julian’s appellate experience includes work on criminal, civil and agency appeals. He has drafted several briefs and substantive motions filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, including a Petition for Rehearing En Banc and a Petition for Writ of Mandamus. He has also worked on petitions for Writ of Certiorari before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Prior to rejoining McDermott, Julian served as a law clerk for the Honorable Harry Pregerson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. During law school, Julian externed for the Honorable Jeffrey W. Johnson, Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Julian is active in the Los Angeles community and currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Western Center on Law & Poverty. He is also a member of McDermott’s Pro Bono Committee.
Julian is admitted to practice in California and before the Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
