Illinois Super Lawyers identified the top five percent of the lawyers in Illinois based on a survey and research conducted by Law & Politics. (January 2007)

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) released its annual Corporate Equality Index, naming McDermott Will & Emery as one of the record number of U.S. companies earning the top rating of 100 percent. The results of the survey illustrate an increased number of companies expanding benefits and protections for their gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees and consumers. The number of companies earning a 100 percent rating increased by 37 percent over last year, including a record number of law firms—12. (September 2006)
We were recognized as having one of the top health care litigation groups in the United States in a study just released by Health Law360. This publication analyzed the thousands of lawsuits brought by or against the 250 largest publicly traded health care companies in 2005. We were selected as one of the top 10 law firms representing the growing health care industry in the U.S. (September 2006)
Our Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department was recognized as a leading patent and trademark litigation firm by IP Law360's recent patent and trademark litigation surveys. We are one of the most frequently retained patent litigation and trademark litigation firms, whether representing the defendant or the plaintiff. Among the 250+ law firms surveyed, McDermott ranked third in active patent litigation cases and eighth in trademark litigation cases. (September 2006)

McDermott received a best brand mention in the United States. Additionally, McDermott was mentioned in the telecoms & technology sector as among the best brands in tax.
We were named by The National Law Journal as one of the top defense litigation law firms in the United States. On its annual Defense Hot List, the journal recognized us along with 14 other law firms as handling particularly significant cutting-edge trial work and achieving favorable results for our clients. McDermott ranked 8th out of 240 firms in BTI Consulting Group's annual survey, The Survey of Client Service Performance for Law Firms. We were also one of only six law firms to be designated as "client service standouts”—a designation for those law firms that have been in the top 30 for client service in each of the past four years. Survey responses came from 200 corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 and other large, U.S.-based companies. (October 2005)
