Nicole A. Colby Longton is an associate in McDermott Will & Emery's Trial Department based in its Boston office. Nicole’s practice is concentrated in commercial litigation with an emphasis on complex commercial disputes, toxic torts, and class actions on behalf of a broad range of clients in the pharmaceutical, financial services, and health care industries. 

Nicole has significant experience in drafting and arguing motions in state and federal courts and arbitration, defending and taking depositions, and coordinating all phases of discovery.

Nicole also has second-chair trial experience, including a recent jury trial in federal court that included charges of extortionate collection of credit and conspiracy.

In addition to civil litigation, Nicole serves as appointed defense counsel in a variety of federal criminal matters. Most recently, Nicole represented a federal inmate seeking a new sentence based on changes to the Sentencing Guidelines.

Nicole is very active in other pro bono matters as well, and has successfully represented elderly and disabled clients at Social Security hearings before administrative law judges, as well as special education students from Boston Public Schools at administrative law hearings.

Nicole is a member of McDermott's national Pro Bono Committee and Gender and Diversity Committee.  She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Holy Cross Lawyer's Association and the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.
