Leigh J. Martinson is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm's Boston office.  Leigh focuses his practice on strategic patent portfolio management and complex patent litigation in the areas of analog circuitry, digital circuitry, computer hardware, software, optics, medical devices, RFID technologies, packet and circuit telecommunications, wireless communications, business methods and internet technologies.

Leigh received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan Technological University in 1998 and his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 2003, with a concentration in intellectual property law.  While in law school, Leigh was selected for the 2003 American Intellectual Property Law Association Giles Rich Moot Court Competition and worked as a patent agent at a local Boston law firm.

Leigh is admitted to practice in the state of Massachusetts and before the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

  • Defended content delivery network provider against patent infringement allegations in the Southern District of Texas
  • Enforced patents related to mass flow control technology against industry competitors
