Jason Casero is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s New York office.  He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation as well as domestic and international arbitration.  Jason also has experience in class action defense and appeals.

Jason’s representative experience includes:

  • Arguing motions in New York state and federal court, and thereby securing the dismissal of claims as wide-ranging as actions for equitable relief to defamation
  • Representing clients in domestic and international arbitrations
  • Managing electronic and traditional discovery issues related to multistate commercial litigation and responses to government whistleblower investigations
  • Securing asylum and release from detention for a Colombian refugee who fled his country under threat by a leftist guerilla group

In 2009, Jason was named Empire State Counsel by the New York State Bar Association for his pro bono efforts on behalf of New York residents unable to pay for legal representation.

While in law school, Jason successfully defended a family facing eviction by the Boston Housing Authority during a three-day bench trial.  He also won the 2004 Wendell F. Grimes Moot Court Competition.

Prior to becoming an lawyer, Jason worked as a product manager at a digital media company, where he specialized in the development and implementation of internet advertising technology.  He has also worked as a business analyst for a Fortune 500 company.

Jason is admitted to practice in New York and California, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
