Christopher L. May is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C., office.  He focuses his practice on patent and trademark litigation.  Christopher is also an adjunct professor at Michigan State University where he teaches a course on general intellectual property. 

Christopher earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his M.B.A., with a concentration in entrepreneurship, from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.   Christopher received his M.S. in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his B.S. in chemistry, cum laude, from Duke University.  

Christopher is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section Legislation Subcommittee and the Licensing Executives Society.  He is also a member of the National Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Lawyers Association.  Christopher is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, New York and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
