Charles Weir is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Los Angeles office. Charles has extensive experience in all aspects of complex litigation, including the areas of health care, real estate, intellectual property and white collar criminal defense. His trial experience includes a complex real estate dispute involving a 10 acre site in downtown Los Angeles and a contract dispute involving the acquisition of a radiation oncology clinic. Charles has significant arbitration experience, including first chairing an arbitration for a major art manufacturer.
Charles was named a Rising Star in business litigation by Los Angeles Magazine and Law & Politics in 2006 to 2009.

- Representation of a Broadcom co-founder in a securities class action and derivative suit regarding Broadcom’s stock option accounting practices

- Representation of a major dialysis provider in multiple breach of contract and fraud disputes
- Representation of an art manufacturer in multiple arbitration proceedings regarding contract and fraud claims
- Representation of a company that owns and operates radiation oncology clinics in a contract dispute
- Representation of a private architecture school in a specific performance action for the purchase of real property
- Representation of a large software company in a major patent dispute, which resulted in a $141 million settlement payment to the Firm’s client
