Paul G. Alvarez is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C., office.  Paul focuses his practice on white-collar and securities defense, U.S. Justice Department investigations, and complex civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels.

Prior to joining McDermott, Paul clerked for the Honorable Royce C. Lamberth of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the Honorable David B. Sentelle of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. 

While attending Columbus School of Law, Paul was a note and comment editor for the Catholic University Law Review.  Paul also clerked in the Office of General Counsel at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and was a member of the law school’s team in the Willem C. Vis Moot Arbitration competition, held annually in Vienna, Austria.

Paul is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia.  He is also admitted before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
