Dr. Uwe Goetker is a partner in the corporate department of McDermott Will & Emery Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater LLP based in its Düsseldorf office.

Uwe advises on all aspects of corporate law and M&A transactions, including private equity and acquisition financing.  In addition, Uwe has depth knowledge in and a special focus on all issues arising from corporate insolvencies and restructurings (both solvent and insolvent).

Uwe has a vast experience in complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions.   He advised clients on successful acquisitions out of some of the most famous German insolvency proceedings.  

Most recently, Uwe represented (i) a multinational group regarding the sale of a financially distressed business prior to an insolvency, (ii) creditors regarding the sale of their distressed payment claims and (iii) a turnaround investor regarding the acquisition of the insolvent market leader of the German cash in transit business.

Uwe is the author of publications and books regarding insolvency law.    In addition, he frequently speaks at seminars on M&A as well as on insolvency related topics.

Uwe is admitted to the German Bar.   He is a member of the insolvency practitioners association INSOL Europe.  He is fluent in German and English.
