Georgia Quenby is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP, based in its London office.  She specialises in restructuring, refinancing, funding turnarounds and acquisitions, asset-based lending and mezzanine finance.  She has particular experience in the retail, manufacturing, oil and gas, power, defence, insurance and real estate sectors.  She has been involved in multi-jurisdictional transactions in the UK, Asia, Australasia, the US and continental Europe for more than a decade.  Georgia is admitted to practice in England & Wales and in New York.

Representative Experience

  • Advising funds and corporates in relation to the Lehman Brothers collapse and the Kaupthing receiverships
  • Advising the shareholder of the Schefenacker car parts business on its operational and financial restructuring
  • Advising the lenders on the Corgi International restructuring
  • Advising the arrangers and underwriters in the financing or refinancing of asset-backed facilities for UK PLCs, privately held groups and European and US corporates, including cross-border
  • Advising financiers and borrowers on leveraged acquisition structures and PE transactions
  • Advising on complex projects including the Skynet 5 PFI project to provide secure military satellite communications to the Ministry of Defence, a very large PPP outsourcing for the British Broadcasting Corporation and the Ministry of Defence’s air to air refuelling project
  • Advising offshore mezzanine funds including in the leisure and healthcare sectors
  • Advising hedge funds on financings and equity stakes in various vehicles
  • Advising directors on directors’ duty issues arising from technical or actual insolvency
