Meir A. Lewittes is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s New York office.  He focuses his practice on private equity, mergers and acquisitions and securities with a recent focus on cross-border transactions, private placements, PIPEs, joint ventures, compliance with federal securities laws and general corporate matters.

While at New York University School of Law, Meir served as an article and note editor of the Journal of Legislation and Public Policy.

  • Represented 180 Connect, Inc., in its merger with DirecTV Enterprises, LLC

  • Represented Evonik Industries in the $150 million sale of a Canadian pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturer to Gilead Sciences, Inc.
  • Represented DaVita Inc. in its $3.05 billion acquisition of Gambro Heathcare, Inc., the U.S. kidney dialysis business of Gambro AB
  • Represented Computershare Ltd. in its acquisition of Equiserve, Inc., from DST Systems, Inc.

  • Represented a private equity fund in its investment in its investment in a electronic asset disposal company
  • Represented a private equity fund in its purchase of a copper mining company
  • Represented a private equity fund in the sale of its interest in a Gibraltar based financial services company
  • Represented a private equity fund in its investment in an interactive television software company

PIPEs

  • Represented a $4.5 billion Connecticut investment fund as lead investor in multiple PIPE transactions
  • Represented a $500 million California investment fund as lead investor in multiple PIPE transactions
  • Represented a $50 million Chicago investment fund as lead investor in multiple PIPE transactions
  • Represented a New York investment bank as placement agent in multiple PIPE transactions
