Melvin White is a partner in the Trial Department, resident in McDermott, Will & Emery’s Washington, D.C. office.

Melvin has over twenty years of experience in complex litigation and arbitration matters.   He has handled disputes involving, among other things, intellectual property, antitrust, managed care, civil RICO, securities fraud, telecommunications, class actions, product liability, complex contractual issues, governmental investigations, and internal corporate investigations.  Melvin has represented pro bono clients in employment discrimination, habeas corpus, sexual harassment, housing discrimination, landlord-tenant, Section 8, child custody and disability cases. 

Melvin is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Arkansas.  He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar (and he is Immediate Past  President of the Bar), the American Bar Association (and he is a delegate to the ABA House of Delegates),  the National Conference of Bar Presidents, the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation, the National Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia, GAYLAW, the Washington Bar Association, and the Edward Bennett Williams Inn of Court, an organization of judges, attorneys and prosecutors dedicated to fostering civility and higher learning in all areas of white-collar criminal law.

Melvin served two years as a judicial clerk for the Honorable G. Thomas Eisele, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, including one year as chief law clerk.   Melvin is an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force.
