Dr. Anja Kiewitt is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater LLP based in its
Munich office. She is a member of the German Corporate Advisory Practice Group and works closely with the German Health Practice Group.
Anja started her professional career working in the corporate department of Allen & Overy LLP an international law firm in Frankfurt. During that time she was seconded to UBS AG in
Zurich, a global wealth manager, investment banking and securities firm based in
Switzerland. Since December 2008 Anja is working with the Firm.
Anja’s practice is focused on mergers & acquisitions (M&A), private equity transactions and corporate law matters including restructuring and corporate governance as well as associated general commercial issues. She is familiar with structuring and conducting transactions and due diligence processes as well as negotiating and drafting contracts and other transactional documents. She is experienced in advising on corporate law issues and litigation associated with such corporate law matters. Furthermore, she gained experience in licensing issues in the healthcare sector and was involved in a number of acquisitions and restructuring processes of healthcare providers. During her secondment she was concerned with Islamic finance, structured products and foreign exchange issue.
Anja studied and earned her Dr. jur from the
University of Würzburg. She served her legal clerkship in
Bavaria. Anja is admitted to the German Bar. Anja is fluent in German and English and has basic knowledge in Spanish.
