Jessica Cullen Smith is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Los Angeles Office. She is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department and co-chairs the Electronic Data Management, Privacy & Discovery Group.
Jessica has responsibility for transactional matters for media and entertainment companies including M&A and financing matters. Her experience includes work on the acquisition of television stations, the acquisition, sale and distribution of cable channels, the creation of international joint ventures for the distribution of sports programming, financing arrangements for media companies and the acquisition, sale and licensing of various media properties.
Jessica also regularly advises organizations, including media and telecommunications companies, on document retention and electronic discovery issues.
Jessica is a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA), and The Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries of the ABA. She is a Vice-Chair of the ABA Corporate Compliance Committee and Chair of the Subcommittee on Document Retention and Electronic Documents. Jessica is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She serves on the Firm's Gender Diversity Committee, the Professional Responsibility Committee and the Professional Liability Committee. Jessica was recognized by the Firm as an Outstanding Mentor in 2006-2007.
Jessica is admitted to practice in California and Massachusetts.
