Karen Y. Lam is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Los Angeles office.
While in law school, Karen was co-editor-in-chief and co-chief comments editor of the Asian Pacific American Law Journal. She has experience as a research assistant, focusing on compliance effectiveness and the economic, liability and regulatory issues related to stem cell products, and as a law clerk for the Health Services Division of the Los Angeles County Counsel. She also has worked as an analyst for the Office of Compliance of the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System.
Prior to law school, Karen worked as an associate for the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems, where she managed the organization’s quality improvement and community health initiatives.
Karen received her J.D. and M.A. in public health from the University of California – Los Angeles. She earned her B.A. in economics and mass communications with honors from the University of California – Berkeley.
Karen is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
