Nick Terras is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP, based in its London office. He is co-head of the Securitization and Structured Finance group, where his practice focuses on investment funds, structured finance, derivatives and capital markets.
Nick's practice covers a wide spectrum of structured finance and derivatives transactions, ranging from synthetic and non-synthetic CDO's, credit default swap negative basis products, credit-linked notes, to equity derivatives and interest rate swaps. His practice has a particular focus on the structuring of hedge funds and of repackaging and credit enhancement products based around hedge fund strategies, encompassing fund derivatives (equity derivatives products and total return swaps), CFO's, principal-protected and capital guaranteed notes (single-manager multi-strategy, funds of hedge funds and basket portfolio structures), leveraged and enhanced liquidity products. Nick has represented a number of significant hedge funds, European and US commercial, retail and investment banks and pension funds.
