Ashley Fischer is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in its Chicago office. She is a member of the Health Industry Advisory Group.
Ashley represents health care organizations such as health systems, hospitals, physician groups, provider contracting networks and other health care providers on a wide range of corporate and regulatory matters. She also serves as outside general counsel for these organizations on general provider representation issues. Her transactional practice includes mergers, acquisitions and affiliations, divestitures and hospital/physician joint ventures and physician alignment strategies. Ashley’s regulatory practice focuses on health antitrust matters for these health care providers, including the antitrust implications of affiliations and joint ventures, and the development and operation of clinically-integrated managed care contracting networks and accountable care organizations, as well as legal assessments and compliance programs.
In 2009 and 2010, Law & Politics named Ashley an Illinois Rising Star. Nightingale’s Healthcare News named Ashley to its list of Outstanding Healthcare Antitrust Lawyers in 2006 and to its list of Outstanding Fraud & Compliance Lawyers in 2005.
Ashley is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association Health Law and Antitrust Sections. She is the former editor of the American Bar Association Antitrust Section, Health Care Committee Recent Developments. She serves on the Guild Board of the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago.
Ashley has authored numerous articles and is a frequent speaker on such issues as health system mergers and acquisitions, physician alignment, clinical integration programs and accountable care organizations.
