Kelli Watson Francuzenko is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Washington, D.C. office. As a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department, she focuses her practice on life sciences and biotechnology, intellectual property matters, including licensing and collaborative arrangements, patent prosecution and intellectual property due diligence.
Kelli regularly counsels university, research institutions, government contractors and biotechnology companies on the transfer of intellectual property rights, and in developing intellectual property strategies and portfolios. She also conducts intellectual property due diligence on behalf of investors and in view of mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining the Firm, Kelli served as Assistant Director and Patent Counsel for Research and Technology Development Services at Georgetown University.
Kelli earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master's degree in biotechnology. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
