Lydia R.B. Kelley is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, resident in its Chicago office. Lydia is a member of the Firm’s Tax Department.
Lydia focuses her practice on federal income tax matters, primarily in the transactional area. She advises multinational and domestic entities, including public and closely held businesses. Lydia has extensive experience in the supervision of sophisticated tax due diligence for acquisitions of stock and assets in a variety of industries, including energy, manufacturing and transportation. In addition, she has advised on various credit union matters. She is also the co-chair of McDermott Will & Emery’s Recruiting Committee and GREEN Initiatives Committee.
Lydia has lectured on developments in federal income, estate and gift and employee benefits taxation at the annual Federal Tax Institute at Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is also the Vice Chair of Chicago Kent College of Law’s Federal Tax Institute and Federal Tax Institute Advisory Board. Lydia has also lectured on issues relating to captive insurance structures. Lydia is also the author of several articles on federal and state tax issues associated with drafting covenants not to compete.
She is a member of the Illinois bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
