Lainie C. Kaiser is a staff attorney in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Chicago office. She focuses her practice on complex litigation matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, Lainie was a freelance associate at a Chicago-based IP litigation boutique, where she represented a multinational company in a complex patent infringement suit. She has defended companies under government scrutiny for alleged violations of the USA PATRIOT Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act as well as helped clients negotiate the federal and state criminal systems.
During law school, Lainie acted as a senior line editor for the Journal of Gender, Social Policy and the Law and worked as a law clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division in the Office of International Affairs, concentrating on Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Lainie is admitted to practice in Illinois and the District of Columbia.
