Rita J. Yoon is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Chicago office. Rita focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation, transactions and counseling.
Rita’s litigation experience includes patent infringement cases representing patentees and defendants in the software, computer networking and electronics industries. She also has experience in arbitration and FDA regulatory matters.
In the area of brand protection, Rita counsels clients on selection, protection and enforcement of trademarks, domain names and copyrights.
While in law school, Rita won the Arlyn Miner Book Award for best written appellate briefs in a first-year moot court class. She also was a senior editor for the Journal of International Law and Business. Prior to law school, Rita covered the biomedical industry as a journalist.
Rita earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California.
Rita is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and in the state of Illinois.
