Jake Townsend is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Chicago office. Jake focuses his practice on the areas of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital transactions and general corporate representation.
His experience includes mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, private equity and venture capital financing for a broad range of private and public clients. He also provides continuing general corporate legal advice to a number of the Firm’s clients.
Jake regularly represents private equity funds and their portfolio companies in their acquisitions, recapitalizations and exit transactions. In addition, he frequently cousels investors in connection with their investments in private equity, venture capital and hedge funds.
Jake's practice also focuses on renewable energy and project development joint ventures. He represents both private and public project developers and manufacturers. His work covers joint venture agreements, joint development agreements, governance issues, and other transactional and contractual matters.
Jake is admitted to practice in Illinois.
