Mandy Kim is an associate with the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Orange County office. She focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation.
Mandy received her J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law with specialized certificates from the Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law and Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. While in law school, she was Managing Editor of the Journal of Business Entrepreneurship and the Law. Mandy also received several awards during law school, including the American Jurisprudence Award for Intellectual Property Survey, American Jurisprudence Award for Selected Issues in Dispute Resolution—Intellectual Property, and Witkin Award for Selected Issues in Dispute Resolution—Intellectual Property. She also served as a law clerk in the Office of the City Attorney (Los Angeles), Intellectual Property Unit, General Counsel Division.
Prior to law school, Mandy received her M.S. and B.S. degrees in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics from the University of California—Los Angeles. She has experience as a research associate and has authored a number of publications including “Developing a Genetic System in Deinococcus radiodurans for Analyzing Mutations” (Genetics, February 2004) and “Competition Between MutY and Mismatch Repair at A•C Mispairs In Vivo” (Journal of Bacteriology, August 2003). She also worked as a Technology Transfer Specialist in the Office of Intellectual Property, UCLA.
Mandy is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
