Brad Gathright is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Houston office.  Brad  focuses his practice on project development and finance matters and general corporate matters in the energy industry, with a particular focus on renewable energy and energy-related mergers, acquisitions and dispositions.

Brad graduated first in his class from Emory University School of Law and was named to the Order of the Coif.  While in law school, he was a managing editor of the Emory Law Journal.

Brad is admitted to practice in Texas.  He is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Young Lawyers Association.

  • Leading alternative energy company – development and construction of the Flat Ridge Wind Farm in Barber County, Kansas
  • Leading alternative energy company – wind power joint ventures and project development, including power purchase agreements, turbine acquisitions, construction contracts, and asset acquisitions and dispositions
  • Leading wind energy company – $263 million wind project portfolio bank credit facility (Project Finance magazine's 2006 North American Renewable Energy Deal of the Year)
  • Leading alternative energy company – development, acquisition and construction of the 750-megawatt Fowler Ridge Wind Farm in Benton County, Indiana
  • Leading wind energy company – development, acquisition and construction of the 200-megawatt Post Oak Wind Power Project in Shackelford and Callahan Counties, Texas
  • Leading wind energy company – various aspects of the acquisition, construction, development, and operation and management of several wind facilities
