Megan Rooney is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Chicago office. As a member of the Health Department, Megan maintains a general health law practice, focusing her practice on the representation of hospitals and health systems. She has experience in all aspects of health law transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, joint ventures and system restructurings for hospitals and other health care providers. Megan also advises hospital and health system clients on regulatory compliance with licensure, accreditation and other state and federal regulatory matters.
Megan is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys, American Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association and is admitted to practice in Illinois. Megan serves on the Publications Committee of the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys and serves as a reporter on Illinois health reform to the membership of the American Health Lawyers Association. She serves as an adjunct professor of law at Northwestern University School of Law and The Kellogg School of Management, teaching "Legal Issues in Health Care Delivery Systems". She is a licensed registered nurse in Illinois.
