Dr. Gudrun Germakowski is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater LLP, based in its Düsseldorf office. She is a member of the German Labor and Employment Group, where she advises on all aspects of individual and collective labor and employment law. This includes transaction related labor law issues, contract structuring and temporary employment. One focus of her practice is the advice on co-determination rights of the works council.
Gudrun received her law degree from the University of Bochum. She served her legal clerkship in the circuit of the Higher Regional Court Hamm. In 2004 she received a PhD (Dr. jur.) with a thesis on the claim for reinstatement. From 2001 to 2004, Gudrun was a scientific officer to Professor Dr. Wank at the Institute for Civil Law, Commercial and Labor Law at the University of Bochum. During this time, she lectured, led labor law related seminars and assisted in the publication of several professional articles in the area of labor and employment law.
Gudrun is admitted to the German Bar and is a certified labor and employment lawyer (Fachanwältin für Arbeitsrecht).
