Michael F. Kelleher is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, and is based in the Firm's Washington, D.C. office.   He focuses his practice on the representation of corporate taxpayers on complex federal income tax controversies, transfer pricing and insurance tax matters.

In the tax controversy area, Michael represents clients in pre-audit planning, in audits, before the IRS Appeals Office and in litigation.   He has extensive experience with ADR procedures, including fast track and post-appeals mediation.  Michael is nationally ranked as a leading tax controversy lawyer in the 2009 edition of Chambers USA: Leading Lawyers for Business.  

On transfer pricing and insurance tax matters, Michael is involved in the planning process, as well as before the IRS on ruling and regulatory matters.  He has also assisted clients in competent authority matters and in obtaining Advance Pricing Agreements in the United States and in several non- U.S. jurisdictions.

At Georgetown law school, Michael was Managing Editor of Law & Policy in International Business.  He began his career as law clerk to the Honorable William B. Jones, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
