Joseph B. Williams is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Washington, D.C. office. He is a member of the Firm’s Energy and Derivatives Markets Practice Group, where he focuses on energy markets and trading and bankruptcy matters.
Joseph re-joins McDermott after serving as senior counsel in-house with the New York Independent System Operator. In private practice, he focused on energy, bankruptcy and general litigation matters. He has experience representing clients in complex energy litigation matters, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) investigations, enforcement proceedings and contract litigation. Additionally, Joseph has advised domestic and international clients on various PUHCA issues.
While in law school, Joseph served as managing editor of the Syracuse Law Review (2000-2001). He also was a member of the Syracuse Law and Technology Journal and Moot Court Honor Society.
Joseph is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
