Clint A. Carpenter is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. 

While in law school, Clint served as a senior articles editor for the Washington and Lee Law Review and as the articles editor for the Environmental Law Digest.  After graduating, he clerked for the Honorable Norman K. Moon of the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. 

Clint co-authored The Return of Seditious Libel, 55 UCLA L. Rev. 1239 (2008), and authored Stepmother May I?:   Moral Rights, Dastar, and the False Advertising Prong of Lanham Act Section 43(a), 63 Wash. & Lee L. Rev. 1601 (2006).

He received his J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law and his B.A. in film from Brigham Young University.   Before entering law school, he worked as a writer for television and comic books.

Clint is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.  He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia.
