Anti-Defamation League to Honor Andrea S. Kramer at Achievement Awards Dinner
CHICAGO (February 12, 2007) — Andrea S. Kramer, a partner resident in the Chicago office of McDermott Will & Emery, is among four recipients who will be honored with the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) Women of Achievement Award. This award was created to honor women who are outstanding in their field and who embody the spirit and philosophy of ADL through their community service. The ADL will host their 14th annual Women of Achievement Awards Dinner on Thursday, March 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Chicago, 200 North Columbus Drive, at which time, award recipients will be honored.
Ms. Kramer has practiced law for nearly 30 years. She is a member of McDermott’s Tax Department; head of its Financial Products, Trading and Derivatives Group; and co chairs its Energy Services Group. She is active in Firm management, serving as chair of the Firm’s Gender Diversity Committee, a member of its Management Committee, and a member of its Compensation Committee. In addition to her many legal accomplishments and her family life, Ms. Kramer has found the time and energy to be extremely active in community and charitable activities. She is a founding member and board chair of The Women’s Treatment Center and also serves on the board of DanceArt. In recognition of her outstanding community service, the Cook County Board of Commissioners awarded her the Unsung Heroine Award in 2004. She recently co-founded the Women's Leadership and Mentoring Alliance and plays a leading role in the Chicago Bar Association’s “Call to Action,” designed to increase opportunities for women lawyers. Ms. Kramer has also played a leadership role in many professional organizations, including the Chicago Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the National Association of Women Lawyers.
