NationsHealth Sells Discount Prescription Drug Card Business
MIAMI, FL (September 8, 2006) — McDermott Will & Emery client NationsHealth, Inc. recently announced the sale of its discount prescription drug card business to HealthTran LLC. NationsHealth will retain the exclusive right to offer and provide diabetic and related supplies, services and products related to the Medicare Part D prescription drug program and certain other ancillary health care products and services to these cardholders.
The Miami team advising NationsHealth on this transaction included Ira Coleman, Jackie Hodes, Harris Siskind and Jennifer Vecchio with assistance from Boston partner Steve Bernstein.
NationsHealth improves the delivery of health care to Medicare and managed care beneficiaries by providing medical products and prescription related services. NationsHealth has an agreement with CIGNA to offer their Medicare Part D prescription drug plans nationally.
