San Diego Attorney Receives ABA Appointment

SAN DIEGO (July 25, 2005) — The San Diego office of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the recent appointment of counsel David Gay as co-chair of a national American Bar Association (ABA) committee.

"David's recent appointment is quite an honor and clearly illustrates his role in the intellectual property environment," commented John Hankins, partner-in-charge of the Firm's San Diego office.

Dr. Gay's practice includes all aspects of intellectual property law.  He advises established and emerging pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as to the strategic design, creation, acquisition and management of intellectual property portfolios.  His experience encompasses patent portfolio management, U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, opposition proceedings, due diligence reviews, freedom to operate investigations, validity and infringement analyses, and technology licensing.  Dr. Gay received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law.
