Two Partners Recognized as "Outstanding Advocates"

LOS ANGELES - Public Counsel, the largest pro bono law office in the United States, honored Tim Blanchard, health law partner in McDermott Will & Emery's Los Angeles office, as the organization's "Outstanding Advocates" in Public Counsel's Community Development Project for the second year in a row. 

Mr. Blanchard has prepared and presented a series of seminars and workshops to assist community health clinics in Los Angeles with regard to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements for privacy of health information.

McDermott Will & Emery's HIPAA Practice Group has extensive experience in health privacy issues.  The Firm's health lawyers frequently speak at privacy and security conferences and serve on the boards of numerous HIPAA organizations and task forces.

Mr. Blanchard focuses his practice on health care payment and regulatory issues, including fraud and abuse advice and defense, and the development and implementation of health care compliance programs, including HIPAA compliance.
