Senior IP Trial Lawyer Joins McDermott's Silicon Valley Office

PALO ALTO, CA (June 4, 2007) — The Silicon Valley office of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that David A. Kays, a well-known intellectual property trial lawyer, is joining the Firm as a partner in the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department.  His practice areas include intellectual property, licensing and commercial litigation. 

Mr. Kays is an experienced trial lawyer and focuses on resolving disputes on behalf of technology companies in a wide range of matters including copyright, trademark, trade secrets, unfair competition, licensing and complex commercial transactions.  His recent clients include semiconductor, internet, software and peripheral manufacturer companies.

Mr. Kays received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1985, and his B. A. from the University of Massachusetts in 1980.  He is admitted to practice in California, before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Central and Eastern Districts of California, the California Supreme Court and all California State Courts.
