J.W. Childs Equity Partners to Acquire Sunny Delight
CHICAGO — McDermott Will & Emery is representing J.W. Childs Equity Partners III, L.P., in its recently announced acquisition of the Sunny Delight and Punica juice-based beverage businesses’ operations in the United States and Europe from The Procter & Gamble Company.
J.W. Childs Associates, L.P. will operate Sundor Brands, Inc. under the name of the Sunny Delight Beverages Company as a freestanding company to house these businesses, which will be headquartered in Cincinnati. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Pending regulatory approval, closing of the transaction is expected in the July-September quarter of 2004.
McDermott’s legal team advising J.W. Childs was led by corporate partners Brooks Gruemmer and Bernard Kramer, and included more than 20 lawyers in the Firm’s Chicago, New York, Düsseldorf, London and Washington, D.C. offices.
