McDermott Advises on Launch of UK's First 'Pure Play' Listed PFI Investment Company
LONDON (July 5, 2004) — The international law firm of McDermott Will & Emery has advised Collins Stewart (as nominated adviser) on the launch of the PFI Infrastructure Company plc on AIM. The PFI Infrastructure Company (also advised by McDermott), is the UK’s first “pure play” listed PFI investment company, formed specifically for investing in PFI opportunities in the UK.
The PFI Infrastructure Company was formed to raise approximately £47million to make equity investments in a range of private finance initiative assets like schools, hospitals, housing and urban infrastructure projects in the UK. McDermott advised on all aspects of the launch including the innovative finance structure of the Group involving terms of the UK listing of Eurobonds of the subsidiary of the Company in the Channel Islands and the investment management agreement under which the money will be invested.
