Andrea S. Kramer Launches Women’s Leadership & Mentoring Alliance
Partner Begins New Organization to Leverage the Power of Women in Professional Services Businesses
CHICAGO (August 24, 2010) — McDermott Will & Emery partner Andrea S. Kramer recently announced the inception of the Women’s Leadership & Mentoring Alliance (WLMA), a not-for-profit association of businesswomen in professional services, with the launch of its website in July at www.wlmaconnect.org. The website provides in-depth information about the organization’s mission, programming events and mentorship opportunities nationally across four regions.
Ms. Kramer founded WLMA in 2006 with two other Chicago business leaders: Julie Howard, President and Chief Operating Officer, Navigant Consulting and Laura M. Linger of William Blair & Co. They founded WLMA to help professional women in Chicago come together to share knowledge through mentoring, development and leadership opportunities. Now, four years later, WLMA is a national association with regional breadth in New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.
“WLMA offers a pathway for professional businesswomen to exchange information and mentor each other,” said Ms. Kramer, Chair of the Board of WLMA. “WLMA strives to inspire professional women at all stages of their careers to share their experiences, expertise, ideas, and dreams with other professional women.”
WLMA is an invitational mentoring alliance of professional women learning, exchanging and advancing at every stage of their lives and careers. It provides leadership development and mentoring in an open, supportive environment through events hosted quarterly. Members give and receive knowledge, guidance, reinforcement, resources and opportunities for growth.
