Regal Ware Acquires the West Bend Company
CHICAGO - McDermott Will & Emery represented Regal Ware, Inc. in its acquisition of the assets of The West Bend Company from Illinois Tool Works, Inc. Regal Ware has acquired West Bend's Premiere Cookware, Water Systems and Housewares business units. Following the acquisition, revenues of the new company are projected to be approximately $200 million.
McDermott Will & Emery's legal team working on the deal included partners Robert Schreck, Steve Miller and Steve Erf, all from the Firm's Chicago office. In addition, Joel Grosberg and Stefan Meisner, partners in McDermott's Washington, D.C. office, handled the Hart-Scott-Rodino clearance on the transaction.
Regal Ware, a privately held company founded in 1945, is a widely respected name in the housewares industry. Regal products, which are available throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Asia and Europe, include range-top cookware, coffeemakers, electric appliances and water filtration systems. The West Bend Company is among the top small appliance manufacturers in the United States.
