McDermott Adds to Life Sciences and Technology Practices with New Partner on West Coast

PALO ALTO, CA (October 22, 2007) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the arrival of Kyle Guse as partner in the Firm's Corporate Department and the Firm's 75+ lawyer Life Sciences & Medical Device Practice Group.  Mr. Guse will be joining McDermott's Silicon Valley office.  He has a strong concentration in the life sciences industry having represented medical technology and pharmaceutical companies on a variety of corporate transactions.  Mr. Guse also has significant experience representing other technology companies, including software and clean-tech companies.

Mr. Guse has a practice emphasizing mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital and general corporate counseling.  His clients include both public and private biotechnology and medical device companies and software and other technology companies.

Mr. Guse earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Santa Clara University School of Law and his M.B.A. and B.A. from California State University.  Additionally, he was a certified public accountant from 1988 to 1996.  Mr. Guse is admitted to practice in California and is a member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association.
