Silicon Valley Office Welcomes New Trial Counsel

PALO ALTO, CA (September 19, 2006) — The Silicon Valley office of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the addition of David Alexander as counsel in the Firm’s Trial Department.  Mr. Alexander concentrates his practice on the litigation and trial of a broad spectrum of complex commercial matters, particularly antitrust, unfair competition, trademark, copyright, trade secrets, patents, securities, product recall, construction litigation, arbitration, sports law and white-collar criminal defense. 

"David will be a key member of our team both in Silicon Valley and at the Firm," commented Daniel Alberti, head of the Silicon Valley trial practice.  "He brings with him extensive experience representing a number of Fortune 100 companies in various litigation capacities.  We are very happy to have him join our practice."

Previously, Mr. Alexander served as co-trial counsel with McDermott partner Terry McMahon on behalf of AMD in its successful litigation against Intel relating to critical microprocessor technologies.  "David is a fantastic court room lawyer and I am delighted to be able to team up with him again," stated McMahon.

Prior to private practice, Mr. Alexander served in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division.  He is an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and the State Bar of California.  Mr. Alexander is a member of the Antitrust Section, including the Subcommittee on Sports and Entertainment Law and the Litigation Section of the ABA.  He has served as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and judge pro tem of the Superior Court of the State of California for the City and County of San Francisco.

He received his B.A. and his J.D. from the University of Michigan, and has also served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of San Francisco Law School and lectured at the Boalt Hall School of Law on sports law.
