McDermott Advises Lockheed Martin UK Holdings Limited on Proposed Acquisition of INSYS Group Limited
LONDON (18 October 2005) — The law firm of McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP has advised Lockheed Martin UK Holdings Limited on the regulatory aspects of the proposed acquisition of INSYS Group Limited. INSYS is a UK-based diversified supplier of military communications systems, weapons systems and advanced analysis services to, amongst others, the UK Ministry of Defence.
The transaction involved the first ever Special Intervention Notice under the Enterprise Act 2002. McDermott successfully negotiated with the UK Ministry of Defence, the Department of Trade and Industry and the Office of Fair Trading to devise Undertakings that would resolve any national security concerns.
Lockheed Martin is a long-standing client of the Firm and this acquisition follows on from two previous acquisitions this year in which the Firm has provided merger control advice, reflecting the Firm’s experience in the defense industry.
The McDermott team was led by EU competition partners Scott Megregian and Ian Rose.
