London Partner Appointed as an Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport

LONDON (15 June 2007) — The international law firm of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Alasdair Bell, a partner in the Firm's European Competition group, has been appointed as an arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The CAS provides services which facilitate the settlement of sports-related disputes through arbitration or mediation.  Alasdair joins arbitrators from 87 countries, chosen for their specialist knowledge of arbitration and sports law.

Alasdair is based in McDermott's London office and has extensive experience in the media sector, especially relating to professional sports, where he is recognised as a pre-eminent lawyer.  His clients include a number of sports governing bodies, including UEFA, and he has been involved in many high profile cases with the European Commission in Brussels.
