International Trade Group Boosts Practice with Two Laterals
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Michael P. House and Raymond Paretzky have joined McDermott, Will & Emery’s Washington, D.C. office as partners in the Firm’s International Trade Practice Group. Messrs. House and Paretzky counsel U.S. and multinational companies, including foreign governments, on international trade regulations and negotiations with a particular focus on China and Korea.
Also joining McDermott is Ms. Sandra Wright. Ms. Wright is an International Trade Analyst, with many years of experience handling statistical and data analysis and computer programming in trade remedy proceedings and import relief investigations.
Mr. House, formerly co-chair of Kaye Scholer’s International Trade Group, counsels U.S. and foreign clients, including foreign-based multinational corporations, U.S. domestic industries, U.S. importers and trade associations, and foreign governments, on international trade regulation and trade negotiations. With a concentration in import relief measures and export controls, Mr. House has represented clients in numerous trade actions arising under the antidumping and countervailing duty laws, the unfair trade and unfair import practices laws, "escape clause" proceedings, the GSP program and export controls. He appears frequently before various U.S. government agencies and U.S. federal courts on a wide variety of trade issues involving such major industries as semiconductors, steel, consumer electronics, chemicals and textiles.
Mr. Paretzky has extensive experience handling complex international trade matters for U.S. and foreign clients. He has particular experience in all aspects of defending foreign manufacturers alleged to be selling products below fair value in the United States ("dumping"), and has defended U.S. companies accused of dumping in foreign countries. His practice also includes counseling clients on other import relief measures and export controls.

Mr. House earned his J.D. from the University of Texas, and his B.F.A. magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, and before the U.S. Court of International Trade, the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Paretzky earned his J.D. from Yale University, and his B.A. summa cum laude from Queens College of the City University of New York. Additionally, he attended Oxford University in England earning a B.A./M.A. Mr. Paretzky is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia; and before U.S. Court of International Trade, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
