Brussels Office Represents Guatemalan Exporters of Ethyl Alcohol before the EC

Brussels  (27 April 2006)  — McDermott Will & Emery/Stanbrook LLP has successfully counselled three Guatemalan exporters in an anti-dumping proceeding against imports of ethyl alcohol.  Our international trade lawyers represented Servicios Manufactureros SA, Ingenio Palo Gordo SA and DARSA before the European Commission.

McDermott initially prevented the imposition of provisional duties on the grounds of the exporters' temporary reduction in export capability due to the damage caused by Hurricane Stan, and subsequently represented them before the Trade Directorate, where the anti-dumping proceeding was terminated, after the Community Industry withdrew its complaint.  The McDermott team was led by partner Philip Bentley QC and included partner Frank Schoneveld and associate Elena Kostadinova.
