McDermott, Will & Emery is in Munich
MUNICH - On January 2, 2002, the international law firm of McDermott Will & Emery opened the doors of its first German office, located in Munich. Founding the office are six partners and five associates from the German firm of BBLP Beiten Burkhardt Mittl & Wegener. Adding this physical German presence will greatly expand the Firm's already considerable services to the German market and companies with interests therein.

McDermott's Munich office will initially handle client matters involving general corporate activities, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, capital markets, taxation, antitrust and regulatory, and telecommunications, media and information technology.
Christian von Sydow, partner, who recently advised on the first merger of two companies listed on the Neuer Markt and on a number of IPOs on the Neuer Markt, focuses on capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions.
Dr. Ralf Weisser, partner, practice in the field of telecommunications, media and IT. The Munich office represents clients in the fixed line and mobile telephony, fiber optics, cable TV, media, entertainment, IT, software, internet and e-commerce industries with respect to mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, strategic and regulatory matters, and litigation.
The Firm's Munich office advises on a variety of regulatory matters in all industries, including merger control. Dr. Oliver Steffens, partner, advises clients on German and European competition law and will focus on antitrust, regulatory matters and IT.
