Lisa B. Horowitz Appointed to the American Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession
WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 8, 2009) — McDermott Will & Emery LLP announces that Lisa B. Horowitz, Firm-wide Director of Professional Development, has been appointed to serve as a Commissioner on the American Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession by ABA President Carolyn Lamm.
Ms. Horowitz has a long track record of leadership on women’s issues. She has recently completed her term as President of the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL), the leading national voluntary organization devoted to advancing the interests of women lawyers and women's rights. Founded over 100 years ago, NAWL has historically served as an educational forum and an active voice for the concerns of women in the legal profession. Ms. Horowitz is also a sought-after speaker on women in the law, professional development, and business development with recent presentations before the ABA Women in Law Leadership Academy, the NALP Professional Development Conference, and the University of Texas Center for Women in the Law Summit.
