Silicon Valley Office Adds Attorneys

PALO ALTO, CA (October 12, 2005) — McDermott Will & Emery's Silicon Valley office now numbers more than 60 attorneys.  One partner and two associates joined the Silicon Valley office from other McDermott offices and seven other associates, including four from the class of 2005, have joined the Firm.

Corporate partner Mark Mihanovic has relocated his primary office to Silicon Valley, after having spent the past several years commuting to Silicon Valley for a portion of his time from his office in Los Angeles.   Mr. Mihanovic focuses his practice in the areas of corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, with an  emphasis on life science and  technology  companies.  He has served as lead counsel in numerous public and private securities offerings, acquisitions and divestitures and venture capital transactions.

W. Nicholas Chen, previously an associate in the Firm's Washington, D.C. office, joined the Silicon Valley office Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department.  John Gilmore and Mary Boyle recently joined as new associates to the IP group and Katherine Kim joined as an associate in the Trial Department.  Additionally class of 2005 associates, Brian Baker (University of California, Hastings College of Law), Harper Batts (University of Miami School of Law), Jane Bu (Santa Clara University School of Law) and Michelle Cai (Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley) all joined the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department.
