McDermott Ranked Among the Top Tier Patent Firms by Managing IP
CHICAGO (February 8, 2008) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce its Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department has been ranked among the world’s top patent firms in Managing IP’s annual leading patent firms survey. In the United States, McDermott was recognized as a leading firm for patent prosecution, patent contentious and biotechnology-life sciences. The Firm ranked in the top tiers across many regional categories for patent prosecution and patent contentious. Internationally, McDermott ranked as a leading firm for patent contentious in the United Kingdom.
Managing IP covers firms across 65 jurisdictions and for the first time this year, the survey ranks the leading firms in the United States both nationally and in four regions: Northeast, South, Midwest and West. The rankings by Managing IP are based on peer recommendations rather than on objective criteria such as which are the largest, busiest or oldest firms. No firm can vote for its own inclusion, or that of an associated firm.
